About the role#
This is a full-time Software Engineering Internship for Summer 2027 based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will work on-site as part of an agile team developing cabin entertainment and management software for aircraft. This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Write code for new features within an existing product line.
- Debug software issues in a lab environment.
- Create and execute tests to ensure code meets all requirements.
- Participate in, lead, and create code peer reviews.
- Support product integration tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and remote peers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with Java or C/C++.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Python, or the Robot test framework.
- Skills gained through coursework, research, projects, or work experience.
- Preferred: Experience with full stack web development using AngularJS, Node.js, or Vue.js.
- Preferred: Experience with native or hybrid mobile development using Swift, Java, Kotlin, or Flutter.
- Preferred: Prior internship or work experience at RTX.
