About the role#
This Software Engineering Co-op position is a full-time opportunity based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. You will join the Boeing Platforms department engineering team to support the development of cockpit display systems. This role requires U.S. citizenship. You will work on-site in an office and engineering lab environment.
What you'll do#
- Capture requirements and design embedded software in C++ for the A661 Graphics Server.
- Test and verify software to Design Assurance Level A fidelity per DO-178C standards.
- Contribute to the full software development life cycle, including requirements, design, code, and verification.
- Learn and apply Collins Aerospace processes to current projects.
- Use debug and analysis tools to identify the root cause of software issues.
- Summarize technical findings and issues for project leadership.
- Work with both desktop computers and target hardware in an engineering lab.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
- Minimum of 29 credit hours completed by the start of the session.
- Actively enrolled in school through the completion of the co-op.
- Programming experience in C, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with real-time operating systems and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Demonstrated interest in embedded software and board-level device drivers.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Prior experience with RTX internships or co-ops is a plus.
