About the role#
Rainmaker Technology Corporation is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern for the Fall 2026 term. Reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to mission-critical subsystems for our UAS platform, including dispersion payloads and remote sensing systems.
What you'll do#
- Design and build functional prototypes for UAS subsystems, iterating based on flight test feedback.
- Create schematics and layouts for power distribution, sensor interfaces, payload controllers, and communication modules.
- Assemble, debug, and validate new PCBs while developing test procedures to verify reliability under flight conditions.
- Prepare technical documentation and fabrication data for manufacturing.
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams.
What you'll need#
- Experience with PCB design software such as Altium or KiCad.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontrollers, including Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32, ESP32, or RP2040.
- Embedded programming experience in Rust, Arduino, Python, or C++.
- Knowledge of power electronics circuits, including buck and boost converters, BMS, and power switching circuits.
- Proficiency with EE lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and DC loads.
- Demonstrated technical experience outside of the classroom through personal projects, research, or previous work.
