This internship provides hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT systems within the power generation and energy industry. You will work directly with the IT team to maintain technology systems that power critical energy operations, gaining exposure to infrastructure, cybersecurity, and help desk support in a mission-critical environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via help desk tickets.
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- Support user account management, including Active Directory tasks, password resets, and access provisioning.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Assist with cybersecurity initiatives such as phishing simulations, patching, and endpoint protection.
- Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Document technical processes, procedures, and configurations while supporting IT asset inventory management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
