    About the role#

    As a Facilities Engineering and Commissioning Intern, you will work on the project life-cycle of commissioning and decommissioning events at an active data center. You will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives, gaining hands-on experience with the data center build process and company operations. The program includes a comprehensive orientation, weekly lunch and learns, site-based activities, and volunteering events.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with engineering aspects of data center site startup or commissioning projects.
    • Participate in the design, configuration, and commissioning of data center facilities.
    • Use tools like Revit, CAD, and DCIM software to support engineering improvements and automation projects.
    • Develop project plans and timelines for site startup and commissioning activities.
    • Monitor project progress and report on findings.
    • Develop and implement automation solutions to improve data center operations.
    • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
    • Prepare technical documentation and reports for engineering projects.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a similar field.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Must be a US Citizen.
    • Current full-time enrollment in a partner institution or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school.
    • Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, data center, or facilities engineering industries.
    • Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork.
