About the role#
As a Facilities Engineering and Commissioning Intern, you will work on the project life-cycle of commissioning and decommissioning events at an active data center. You will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives, gaining hands-on experience with the data center build process and company operations. The program includes a comprehensive orientation, weekly lunch and learns, site-based activities, and volunteering events.
What you'll do#
- Assist with engineering aspects of data center site startup or commissioning projects.
- Participate in the design, configuration, and commissioning of data center facilities.
- Use tools like Revit, CAD, and DCIM software to support engineering improvements and automation projects.
- Develop project plans and timelines for site startup and commissioning activities.
- Monitor project progress and report on findings.
- Develop and implement automation solutions to improve data center operations.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports for engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a similar field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Current full-time enrollment in a partner institution or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, data center, or facilities engineering industries.
- Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork.
