About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the design department at Carolina Herrera. You will work alongside the design and product development teams to support the creation of seasonal knitwear collections. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in New York.
What you'll do#
- Create collection boards and update seasonal line sheets.
- Prepare knitwear fabric cards once swatches receive approval.
- Produce colorups of illustrations using Photoshop, Illustrator, or Procreate.
- Assist in creating artwork layouts for intarsia, stripes, crochet, and jacquards.
- Support the design and product development teams with collection development tasks.
- Shadow the design team on techpacks, package preparation, and daily factory communications.
- Participate in design and concept development meetings.
- Shadow the manager during the creation and approval of textile artwork, embroideries, and embellishments.
- Contribute to the development of color palettes and inspiration boards.
- Attend knitwear fittings to take notes and assist with pre-show styling and runway preparations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic institution.
- Basic proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Procreate.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Foundational knowledge of knitwear and garment construction.
- A developed sense of color and solid presentation skills.
