About the role#
As an Internal Audit and Financial Advisory Intern, you will work with clients to solve complex business problems. You will join a team focused on delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions while gaining exposure to different industries. This role offers hands-on training and the opportunity to interact with leaders across the practice. You will participate in the Liftoff with Protiviti onboarding experience and The Intern Challenge to build your professional network and skills.
What you'll do#
- Perform business process audit and advisory or technology audit and advisory tasks.
- Explore business processes to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
- Develop creative solutions to complex business challenges.
- Assess and advise on the technology landscape, including cybersecurity, AI risk, and cloud.
- Collaborate with your team to deliver client-focused solutions and engage in internal initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program, with an expected graduation date within 12 months of completing the internship.
- Relevant coursework in Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or related fields.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Demonstrated proficiency in applying AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot or GenAI, to research and analytical tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and innovation to client engagements.
- Must be at least 18 years of age at the start of the internship.

- This position is based in Houston, Texas.
- The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work depending on client and team needs.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
