About the role#
This PhD internship is based in the Grooming Research & Development group. You will work at the intersection of data science, generative AI, and cognitive science to understand how consumers perceive skin and hair changes. The project involves combining image-based technical measurements with consumer data to identify what drives the shaving experience, such as skin smoothness, evenness, and tone.
What you'll do#
- Develop and evaluate multimodal GenAI approaches to understand skin and hair perception from images.
- Connect image-based measurements with consumer data to identify key visual drivers of product experience.
- Build benchmarks, evaluation datasets, and metrics to assess model alignment with human perception.
- Explore agentic and multimodal AI workflows that integrate images, technical measurements, and consumer data to address research problems.
- Translate findings into actionable insights for R&D and product development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Data Science, Statistics, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with machine learning, computer vision, multimodal AI, image analysis, data analysis, statistics, or quantitative modeling.
- Experience connecting objective measurements to human perception.
- Familiarity with multimodal GenAI, vision-language models, foundation models, or agentic AI workflows.
- Experience with collaborative development tools like Git and GitHub.
Location & details#
