About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Chicago, Illinois. You will work on-site, gaining field-centric experience with mentorship and professional development training. The program includes site-based meetings, company events, and housing for out-of-state interns.
What you'll do#
- Assist with budgeting, estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid solicitations.
- Distribute and maintain project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Support project scheduling, status reporting, and document control.
- Research and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and ASIs.
- Identify and resolve drawing conflicts, interferences, and field issues.
- Track construction materials and equipment.
- Document project meetings and correspondence.
- Assist with punch list completion, closeout activities, and subcontractor work verification.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Project Manager or Superintendent.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or Environmental Engineering.
- Ability to work on-site in Chicago.
- Interest in hands-on, field-based construction work.
