About the role#
PotlatchDeltic Corporation is looking for an Operations Manufacturing Intern to gain hands-on experience in a wood products manufacturing environment. You will work alongside manufacturing supervisors to support daily operations and complete project work. This internship runs for 10 to 12 weeks, starting in late May 2027 and continuing through early August.
What you'll do#
- Support product and process quality by performing regular checks.
- Monitor workflow and assist with inventory management.
- Job shadow department supervisors to understand manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Help supervisors assign tasks and follow up with production crews.
- Assist with training, coaching, and mentoring crew members.
- Lead crews in safe work practices and ensure safety recordkeeping is accurate and timely.
- Maintain a clean work environment to support safety.
- Complete a special project focused on identifying cost savings or operational improvements.
- Communicate with personnel and work across different shifts or days of the week.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least two years of college.
- Enrollment in a bachelor degree program in Operations Management, Business, or an engineering discipline such as Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
- Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research.
- Strong multitasking, planning, communication, and organizational skills.
- A responsible, dependable, and safety-conscious mindset.
- Ability to work any shift or day of the week.

- Location: St Maries, Idaho.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an hourly rate based on academic standing ($20 to $25 per hour). Interns may be eligible for a housing allowance and safety boot reimbursement.
