About the role#
Interfor is looking for students to join our team as an Operations Intern. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals to learn how a modern sawmill operates and how teams collaborate to produce wood products. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Gain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Learn how a modern sawmill operates.
- Explore production processes and see how teams work together to produce wood products.
- Contribute to projects focused on process improvement, operational efficiency, and production performance.
- Analyze data and observations to identify improvement opportunities across mill operations.
- Work alongside experienced operations professionals.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a degree or diploma in Wood Products Processing, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Curiosity and a hands-on approach to learning how a manufacturing operation works.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work with employees across different teams.
- Comfort reviewing information, asking questions, and solving problems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

- Location: Belk, Alabama.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship. A temporary living allowance is provided for interns moving to the area.
