About the role#
Production machine learning models depend on the platform that keeps them healthy. We are looking for a Data Science Intern to build the internal tools, observability, and debugging systems that ensure our models remain reliable. You will work alongside data scientists, ML engineers, and data engineers to maintain our production workflows.
What you'll do#
- Build and ship developer tools and observability systems for machine learning models.
- Write clean Python and SQL on AWS.
- Track pipeline health and data quality.
- Flag performance anomalies before they reach our partners.
- Use AI-assisted diagnostics and failure summarization tools to trace pipeline bugs.
- Design monitoring solutions and test their impact directly with the team.
- Deliver utilities and dashboards for the data science team's production workflow.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a university co-op program in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
- An active work term available.
- Proficiency in writing clean, functional Python and SQL.
- Coursework or project experience in machine learning and frameworks like PyTorch or scikit-learn.
- Disciplined Git habits.
- Curiosity for understanding how systems work and why pipelines break.
- An active interest in MLOps, model observability, and cloud platforms like AWS.
- Ability to explain technical findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience building workflows or tools using LLMs to write code, automate tasks, or analyze data.
