About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027 based in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. As a Test Engineer Intern, you will focus on automated functional test equipment, programming software, and Hipot test equipment. You will develop assembly-specific test programs used in the manufacturing process while collaborating with team leaders, engineers, and manufacturing technicians.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, installation, and maintenance of test and inspection programs.
- Create training materials, including assembly build instructions and specific function training for equipment operators.
- Assist manufacturing operators and technicians with troubleshooting test software, equipment, and products.
- Conduct root cause failure analysis.
- Monitor data on yields to identify cost-down opportunities and support continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with planners and supervisors to meet production schedule priorities.
- Lead test program acceptance, calibration, and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Analyze test results to identify problems and provide recommendations.
- Work from technical manuals, schematics, specifications, and verbal instructions to compile and record test data.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Junior level status.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
