About the role#
This internship focuses on manufacturing process development within Surface Mount or Electro Mechanical assembly areas. You will work with engineers at the factory, site, and corporate levels to develop repeatable processes that improve safety, product yield, and efficiency. Each intern is assigned a mentor for support throughout the term.
What you'll do#
- Identify and solve problems within the factory.
- Support manufacturing process layout and concepts.
- Compare labor quotes to actual times and implement process improvements.
- Review Engineering Change Orders to provide feedback on labor impacts.
- Learn manufacturing process controls and related statistical applications.
- Assist with Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and process validation activities.
- Develop knowledge of Design for Manufacturing guidelines.
- Help determine facility requirements for new equipment and processes.
- Participate on customer support teams to represent manufacturing and engineering.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Junior level status is preferred.
- Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Lean Sigma.
- Proficiency in Google Applications.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
