About the role#
This internship focuses on manufacturing process development in Surface Mount or Electro Mechanical assembly areas. You will work with engineers at the site and corporate level to develop repeatable processes that maximize safety, product yield, and efficiency. Every intern is assigned a mentor for direction and support.
What you'll do#
- Identify and solve problems within the factory.
- Support manufacturing process development, including layouts and concepts.
- Compare labor quotes to actual times and implement process improvements.
- Review Engineering Change Orders to provide feedback on labor impact.
- Learn about manufacturing process controls and statistical applications.
- Assist with Manufacturing Readiness Reviews and process validation activities.
- Develop knowledge of Design for Manufacturing guidelines.
- Recommend raw material formats to optimize manufacturing.
- Determine facility requirements for new equipment and processes.
- Participate on customer support teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Junior level status.
- Experience with Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Lean Sigma.
- Proficiency in Google Applications.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.

- Hourly rate: $23 to $27 per hour.
