About the role#
The Tax Operations and Innovation team builds the technology solutions and processes that support our tax department. You will work on projects that connect business goals with modern technology to help tax practitioners deliver value across industries like manufacturing, real estate, and private equity. This internship provides exposure to public accounting and the role technology plays in client service.
What you'll do#
- Help develop and implement a tax technology strategy to automate and standardize firm operations.
- Create low to no-code technology solutions for the tax department.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, test, and deploy tools used by engagement teams.
- Work with tax staff to identify their needs and develop relevant technology solutions.
- Gain an understanding of the firm's technology stack and internal tax processes.
- Analyze technology vendors and products to assist with investment decisions.
- Participate in strategic research projects regarding advanced technology.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or accounting information systems, or a Master’s degree in accounting or tax.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- On track to meet the requirements to sit for the CPA exam and obtain licensure in your working state.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate Excel skills are preferred.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, APIs, or SQL is a plus.
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
- Physical ability to remain seated for at least 75% of the time, lift at least 15 lbs, and move around the office to access equipment.
- Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and required auto insurance.
- Availability to work overtime, weekends, and travel locally, nationally, or internationally as needed.
