About the role#
As a Federal Tax Consulting Intern in our National Tax Office, you will work alongside our professionals to address complex tax matters. This role provides exposure to federal tax consulting projects across various industries. You will be treated as an entry-level staff member, contributing to real client projects and research tasks.
What you'll do#
- Consult on tax planning strategies to meet specific business and individual tax objectives.
- Research technical positions and draft memos regarding federal tax matters.
- Assist with federal tax consulting projects involving corporate, partnership, and individual taxation.
- Evaluate tax planning strategies that result from new legislation, regulations, and market developments.
- Support National Tax Office professionals with technical research and the analysis of tax developments.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
- Academic success with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- A strong interest in federal taxation, tax consulting, and technical tax research.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An intention to pursue CPA licensure.

- This is a paid, full-time, hybrid position with rolling application acceptance.
- Locations include Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver Tech Center, Detroit, East Lansing, Flint, Grand Rapids, Macomb, Schaumburg, and Southfield.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
