About the role#
Plante Moran is looking for an intern to join our Japanese Business Services team. You will work with Japanese and American clients, providing support on audit and tax engagements. This position is designed to provide experience similar to our entry-level staff, focusing on professional development and client service.
What you'll do#
- Participate in various phases of audit and tax engagements.
- Assist with planning, testing, research, and reporting tasks.
- Work on audits, compilations, reviews, and compliance projects.
- Engage with corporate, partnership, individual, international federal, and state and local tax matters.
- Interact with staff at all levels and communicate directly with clients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in accounting or a Master's degree program in accounting or tax.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Fluency in both Japanese and English, including written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of Japanese business culture.
- A goal of completing the necessary credits to sit for the CPA exam.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship with rolling application acceptance.
- Positions are located in Chicago, IL; Schaumburg, IL; Detroit, MI; and Columbus, OH.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- This position may require local, national, or international travel.
- Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week.
