About the role#
The Macro MSW Leadership internship offers graduate students experience in behavioral healthcare administration. You will partner with clinical leadership to gain insight into program development, quality improvement, staff development, and strategic planning. This role prepares you for future leadership positions by integrating social work values with evidence-based management practices.
What you'll do#
- Shadow department leadership in daily operational activities.
- Assist in planning departmental initiatives.
- Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) projects.
- Assist with the development of new clinical programming.
- Participate in strategic planning discussions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nursing, physicians, and case management.
- Complete major macro-level projects such as clinical workflow redesign or community needs assessments.
- Present findings to hospital leadership at the end of the term.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a CSWE accredited Master of Social Work (MSW) program.
- Completion of foundation-level coursework.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in healthcare administration, leadership, and behavioral health systems.
- Eligibility for advanced field placement is preferred.
