About the role#
The Department of Finance & Risk Management is seeking an intern to join the Grants Finance Division. This role provides hands-on experience with the full lifecycle of grant financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance support. You will work within a team-oriented environment and gain exposure to County financial systems and processes.
What you'll do#
- Support grant financial activities across various County departments.
- Extract and analyze data using Excel and other financial tools.
- Assist with grant budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance tasks.
- Perform a variety of administrative, operational, or technical tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior, or recent graduation from an accredited college or university.
- Major in accounting, finance, business analytics, or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical skills and an interest in public sector finance and grant administration.
- Detail-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with financial systems and tools, specifically Excel.
- Experience with grant budgeting, financial reporting, data analysis, or compliance support is preferred.
