About the role#
This is a 3-month paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work at our New Kensington, Pennsylvania facility to support verification and validation activities for electromechanical medical devices. This is a full-time, hybrid position.
What you'll do#
- Support verification and validation for new and updated medical devices and accessories.
- Create and execute test plans, procedures, and reports.
- Review product requirements for testability and clarity.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot test equipment for electrical, mechanical, and embedded-software testing.
- Collect, analyze, and document test data.
- Identify defects and support follow-up investigations or regression testing.
- Contribute to test scripts and improve test methods while learning automated tools.
- Participate in peer reviews, project meetings, and team status updates.
- Follow quality-system procedures and documentation practices.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience or coursework involving testing, design, data analysis, hardware, software, or laboratory work.
- Skills in product verification, troubleshooting, and clear technical documentation.
- An organized, detail-oriented approach to managing tasks.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with a team.
- Comfort learning new technical concepts, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and general test equipment is a plus.
