About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in North Platte, Nebraska. You will work in a joint capacity with Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever in the Loess Canyons. The role runs from October 13, 2026, through December 18, 2026.
What you'll do#
- Remove scattered Eastern Red Cedar using hand cutting tools.
- Assist wildlife biologists with projects related to wildlife management.
- Perform maintenance on tools and equipment to keep them ready for use.
- Collect research data regarding tree cutting.
- Complete daily work logs, time reports, and treatment records.
What you'll need#
- Interest in or a degree in wildlife management, biology, environmental engineering, agriculture, or a related natural resources field.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, chainsaws, loppers, and brush cutters.
- Physical ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
- Skill in working with private landowners, agency staff, and conservation representatives.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently.

- Compensation: $22 per hour for 32 to 40 hours per week.
