About the role#
As an Aftermarket Buyer Intern, you will work with our team in Baraga to manage supplier relationships and inventory levels. You will help us keep our aftermarket supply chain running by analyzing market trends and coordinating with production schedules.
What you'll do#
- Study market prices, manufacturing improvements, and industry trends.
- Interview and confer with suppliers to discuss capabilities and logistics.
- Negotiate prices and delivery terms for parts.
- Coordinate inventory management with production scheduling and demand.
- Adjust list prices on an ongoing basis.
- Take the lead when time sensitive purchasing situations arise.
- Monitor supplier lead times and performance.
- Create and analyze reports for management.
- Use sales history to forecast future inventory needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
- Ability to secure and analyze quotes from suppliers.
- Skill in negotiating terms and pricing.
