About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) is hiring undergraduate students for a summer internship in construction safety. This program provides hands-on experience through mentorship and a structured checklist of tasks. You will work directly with branch teams to understand operations and build a foundation in industry safety practices.
What you'll do#
- Learn to administer the corporate safety program to help minimize jobsite accidents.
- Assist in safety meetings and run safety-specific reports.
- Cross-train with departments that share safety responsibilities.
- Attend OSHA training and participate in Quality Assessment Reviews.
- Maintain accurate, timely project documentation and correspondence.
- Work with specialized equipment and software.
- Complete a final internship project.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in Construction Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a comparable field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- A reliable source of transportation.
- Willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
- Ability to work in a team, multitask, and self-direct.
