About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) is seeking undergraduate students for a Summer 2027 internship program. This role provides hands-on experience in specialty construction through mentorship and structured project activities. Interns work alongside experienced professionals to build a foundation in construction management.
What you'll do#
- Write detailed proposals and assist with quantity take-offs.
- Prepare bid analysis and review.
- Demonstrate project scheduling and attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
- Manage project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Administer the corporate safety program and track material handling costs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Construction Management, Construction Science, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrated construction knowledge from work experience or completion of a second-year curriculum.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to temporarily relocate.
- Basic knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.

- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
- Compensation: $22.00 per hour.
