About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. is hiring for an Associate Project Engineer Internship for Summer 2027. This program offers students hands-on experience in specialty construction through project work and mentorship. Interns follow a structured activities checklist and submit weekly recaps of their progress. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Write detailed proposals and assist in preparing quantity take-offs.
- Prepare bid analysis and reviews.
- Demonstrate project scheduling and attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
- Manage project labor, material handling, job-cost analysis, subcontractors, and equipment.
- Collaborate with owners, construction managers, architects, engineers, and contractors.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Administer the corporate safety program and track material handling costs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field.
- Baseline construction knowledge from work experience or at least two years of relevant coursework.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
