About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. offers a summer internship program for undergraduate students interested in specialty construction. You will work with a dedicated mentor and follow a structured activity checklist to learn core operations. This role provides an hourly wage of $22.00, relocation reimbursement, and the option of corporate housing.
What you'll do#
- Write detailed proposals and perform bid analysis.
- Assist with quantity take-offs and project scheduling.
- Manage project labor, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, equipment, and materials.
- Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and construction managers.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Administer safety programs to ensure job site compliance.
- Attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Construction Management, Construction Science, or a comparable field.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
- Reliable transportation.
- Baseline construction knowledge from work experience or completion of a second-year curriculum is preferred.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.
