About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) offers a summer internship program for undergraduate students interested in specialty construction. You will work with a dedicated mentor to gain hands-on experience through a structured activity checklist. This full-time, paid position includes an hourly wage of $25.00. We provide relocation reimbursement and the option of corporate housing for the duration of the assignment.
What you'll do#
- Write detailed proposals and prepare bid analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs.
- Manage project labor control, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with owners, construction managers, architects, and engineers.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Administer the corporate safety program to ensure job site safety.
- Attend pre-bid walk-throughs and track material handling costs.
- Prepare financial job cost analysis and demonstrate project scheduling.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program for Construction Management, Construction Science, or a comparable field.
- Baseline construction knowledge from work experience or at least two years of relevant coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
- Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- A reliable source of transportation.
- Willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff is a plus.
