About the role#
Performance Contracting, Inc. (PCI) is seeking undergraduate students for a Summer 2027 internship program. This role provides hands-on experience in the specialty construction industry through mentorship and a structured activity checklist. Interns work closely with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors to build a foundation in construction management. You will be expected to submit weekly recaps detailing your activities and project takeaways.
What you'll do#
- Assist with quantity take-offs and bid analysis.
- Learn to write detailed proposals and manage project schedules.
- Participate in pre-bid walk-throughs.
- Manage project labor, material handling, and job-cost analysis.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and oversee equipment utilization.
- Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
- Administer the corporate safety program to ensure job site compliance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate in Construction Management, Construction Science, or a related field.
- Baseline construction knowledge from work experience or at least two years of relevant coursework.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and interpret project specifications and drawings.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to temporarily relocate for the assignment.
- Basic knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.

- Compensation: Paid at $22.00 per hour.
