About the role#
As an Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience inside a food manufacturing facility. This role connects your classroom studies with daily plant operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to operational initiatives while learning how the business functions.
What you'll do#
- Support Team and Shift Leaders with daily training, work direction, and staff development.
- Help production staff maintain product quality and integrity.
- Verify that finished products meet customer requirements.
- Help maintain a positive work environment for associates.
- Apply company policies and procedures consistently.
- Rotate through various functions in fresh or cook plants, including departments like shipping, receiving, deboning, and human resources.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year bachelor's degree program in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate others.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
Location & details#
- Location: Mount Vernon, Washington.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- This is a paid, full-time internship position. Please note that physical requirements include working in extreme temperatures ranging from -40 to 75 degrees, exposure to noise levels up to 110 db, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
