About the role#
As a Live Operations Intern, you will gain hands-on experience within our live production business. This role bridges classroom learning with real-world applications by offering exposure to the full workflow of our operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to daily tasks while building your industry knowledge.
What you'll do#
- Rotate through various departments including the hatchery, feed mill, grow out, breeders, and harvest facilities.
- Develop an understanding of production processes, animal husbandry, and technical skills.
- Manage a project throughout the summer to improve live performance or address a specific business need.
- Complete weekly assessments to demonstrate your progress and learned material.
- Participate in learning events to build your understanding of the company, Agri Stats, and soft skills.
- Perform daily roles and responsibilities as needed within your assigned business unit.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year institution pursuing a bachelor's degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, or Business Administration.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
- A valid state driver's license and approval to drive a company vehicle.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
Location & details#
- Location: Salisbury, Maryland.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with a target wage of $21.90 to $28.13 per hour, depending on graduation year.
