About the role#
As an Operations Intern at Perdue Farms, you will gain hands-on experience within an operational facility. This role connects your classroom studies to daily business activities by giving you direct exposure to plant operations. You will work alongside experienced professionals, shadow various teams, and contribute to operational initiatives. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Support Team Leaders and Shift Leaders with daily tasks, including training, providing work direction, and developing staff.
- Assist production teams to maintain product quality, integrity, and ensure finished goods meet customer requirements.
- Help maintain a positive work environment to support associate retention.
- Administer company policies and procedures consistently.
- Rotate through various functions in fresh or cook plants to learn different areas of the business.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited four-year bachelor's degree program.
- Academic focus in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business, Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture, or Occupational Safety and Environmental Health.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership abilities and the capacity to motivate others in a team setting.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a group.
Location & details#
- Location: Washington, Indiana.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- Physical requirements include the ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold environments, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
