About the role#
This summer internship provides hands-on exposure to the planning, coordination, and execution of building systems. You will work with Virtual Construction and MEP Services teams to use Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other technologies throughout the construction lifecycle. You will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and trade partners to support project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the development and implementation of project-specific virtual construction plans.
- Support model-based MEP coordination and participate in trade partner meetings.
- Help with clash detection processes and track issues until resolution.
- Review construction documents and models to identify conflicts.
- Help ensure coordinated work meets safety and quality standards.
- Develop site logistics plans, visual schedules, and project coordination tools.
- Create virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences for scope visualization.
- Conduct model reviews and assist with BIM-related workflows.
- Document coordination activities, meeting outcomes, and action items.
- Visit project sites to verify field conditions and support virtual construction plans.
- Assist with the adoption of emerging construction tools.
What you'll need#
- Current college student entering your junior or senior year.
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, BIM/Virtual Design & Construction, Computer Graphics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in construction technology, BIM, and MEP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or similar software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliable transportation for work-related assignments.
- Availability for the full summer internship program.
