    About the role#

    Pepper Construction Group is looking for a Safety Intern for the summer of 2027. This role focuses on the construction industry and is based in the field. You will help develop and promote the Pepper Safety Culture while ensuring safe work practices are followed on our projects.

    What you'll do#

    • Implement and enforce safety protocols across construction sites.
    • Support the broader safety team in maintaining an accident-free workplace.
    • Engage with field operations to uphold safety standards.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a sophomore, junior, or senior in college.
    • Pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Occupational Safety (Industrial Engineering majors are also encouraged to apply).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficiency with computers and the ability to learn new technology quickly.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
    • Reliable personal transportation for travel to offices and job sites.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Des Plaines, Illinois.
    • Term: 12-week program from May to mid-August 2027.
    • Schedule: Full-time.
    • Compensation: $20 to $24 per hour, depending on your graduation year.
    • Note: This position is on-site and does not offer work visa sponsorship.
