About the role#
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a GIS Intern to join the Operations Applications group in Calgary. This role reports to the Supervisor of GIS and supports the corporate pipeline database and Asset Integrity group. You will help maintain data integrity and provide mapping support across the organization. This is a full-time, 12-month internship starting in May 2027.
What you'll do#
- Create presentation-quality maps to meet business requirements.
- Process and integrate GIS data into PODS and Pipeline Integrity databases.
- Investigate, extract, and load historical data.
- Perform quality assurance on existing data sets.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and drawings.
- Complete a project and present your findings at the end of the term.
- Support daily team operations while following the Zero by Choice safety culture.
- Contribute to an inclusive workplace that reflects company values.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary Bachelor of GIS degree program.
- Working knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong background in computer use, data entry, and processing.
- Understanding of various data formats and GIS concepts.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work as a self-starter and communicate well within a team.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Experience with pipelines in the Oil and Gas industry is an asset.
- Skills in Microsoft Access, SQL, or Python are considered assets.
- Ability to commit to the full duration of the 12-month term.
