About the role#
Pelican Products is seeking a Legal Intern to join our in-house team in Torrance, California. This role offers hands-on experience with corporate legal matters, including contracts, employment law, compliance, and intellectual property. You will work alongside legal professionals to support our global organization, gain experience beyond the classroom, and learn how an in-house team manages risk and partners with business units.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and emerging issues, translating findings into actionable summaries.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal memoranda, correspondence, contracts, and company policies.
- Support contract administration, document review, and the organization of corporate legal files.
- Help prepare materials for meetings, negotiations, and litigation matters.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with attorneys and business partners across the company.
- Handle confidential business and legal information with discretion.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- The ability to balance multiple assignments and deadlines.
- High levels of professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
