About the role#
Parkland College is hiring student employees for the Counseling Services department. These are part-time, temporary positions capped at 19 hours per week. Work hours typically fall between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, depending on your availability and department needs.
What you'll do#
- Answer phone calls and greet visitors.
- Handle incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
- Manage paper and electronic filing systems.
- Create documents using Microsoft Office applications.
- Operate office equipment like copiers, computers, and phone systems.
- Assist with special projects, research, and department events.
- Deliver and distribute internal mail and packages.
What you'll need#
- Current eligibility for student employment as determined by Financial Aid.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and filing systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Access.
- Ability to learn new computer programs and office equipment.
- Strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
