About the role#
This position is part of the Student Employee Pool for the Athletics department at Parkland College. It is a paid, on-site role with rolling availability. We are looking for students majoring in Business Administration or Communications who can work independently and handle administrative tasks.
What you'll do#
- Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and respond to inquiries.
- Manage both paper and electronic filing systems.
- File, retrieve, and organize documents, records, and reports.
- Create and edit documents using Microsoft Office applications.
- Sort and distribute mail, faxes, and incoming correspondence.
- Assist with completing departmental forms and data entry.
- Operate office equipment including copiers and computers.
- Help with special projects, research, and events as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current eligibility for student employment as determined by Financial Aid.
- Strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of general office procedures and filing systems.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Access, Excel, and Word, is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and over the phone.
- Punctuality and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
