About the role#
This is a student employee position within the Adult Education and Workforce Development department. It is a paid, part-time role based on-site at Parkland College. Employment is offered on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
You will handle daily office tasks and support department operations. Your responsibilities include answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries. You will manage both paper and electronic filing systems, retrieve documents, and assist with completing forms. You will also use Microsoft Office applications to create documents and help maintain website content. Additionally, you will operate standard office equipment like copiers, computers, and phone systems.
What you'll need#
You must meet all student employment eligibility requirements as determined by Financial Aid and be eligible for Federal Work Study. You should have accurate typing skills and a solid grasp of proper telephone etiquette. We look for familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Access. You should be comfortable working with minimal supervision and possess strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills. This role is open to students majoring in Business Administration or Communications.
