About the role#
Parkland College is hiring student mentors for the Parkland Peers program. You will support fellow students as they transition into college life by providing guidance on academics, career goals, and mental health. This role involves direct student engagement, administrative documentation, and participation in campus outreach events.
What you'll do#
- Attend weekly in-person supervision meetings.
- Meet with mentees through email, text, video chat, or in-person sessions.
- Help students navigate college resources and develop personal wellness goals.
- Identify when a student needs extra support and coordinate with the supervision team.
- Record mentee contacts and your own work hours accurately.
- Represent the program at tabling and promotional events.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 30 college credit hours.
- A minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Current good academic standing.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, Sociology, Human Resources, or Public Health are preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, part-time position.
- Work is both on-site and remote.
- Hiring is on a rolling basis.
