About the role#
Pace University is hiring a student Lifeguard for their Pleasantville campus. This is a paid, on-site position. You will work no more than 20 hours per week during the school term and up to 35 hours per week during breaks. Your specific schedule is determined by your supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Monitor the pool deck while swimmers are present to ensure safety.
- Prevent and respond to emergencies.
- Enforce all pool rules and follow the emergency action plan.
- Arrive 15 minutes before your shift starts.
- Set up lane lines, tot docks, and other equipment as needed.
- Return the pool to its regular configuration and store equipment after your shift.
- Maintain a positive attitude and attend required training sessions or meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR/AED-FPR certifications.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation.
- Ability to handle routine administrative paperwork.
- Proficiency in swimming.
- Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ideal for students majoring in Kinesiology.
