About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern supports the clinical pharmacy team in a per diem capacity. This role involves assisting pharmacists with clinical duties as permitted by law, distributing medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. You will work variable hours and shifts, including weekends, based on scheduling needs and your availability.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacist with specific clinical duties as proscribed by law.
- Work under the direct supervision of a clinical pharmacist.
- Distribute medications to patients.
- Cooperate and communicate with other healthcare professionals, staff, and patients.
- Perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, walking, and lifting or pulling up to 25 pounds.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a College of Pharmacy accredited by the Washington Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (PQAQ).
- Active registration with the Washington State Department of Health as a Pharmacy Intern.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to communicate clearly with staff and patients.
- Ability to exercise calm and reasoned judgment in stressful or emergent situations.
