About the role#
This summer internship offers a look into how a food manufacturing line operates. You will work on projects based on current business needs, such as process improvements focused on yield and waste reduction. You will gain insight into the food manufacturing environment and present your project findings to the corporate management team at the end of the term.
What you'll do#
- Perform project based quality assurance tasks.
- Collect, review, and transfer test results from external sources to internal documentation.
- Perform data collection, trend quality metrics, and communicate results.
- Draft, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring corrective and preventive actions.
- Log incoming raw materials into a database daily.
- Handle sample preparation and testing.
- Learn and apply auditing standards and techniques.
- Analyze audit data to identify trends and summarize findings in reports with recommendations for management.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and work groups.
What you'll need#
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that includes exposure to cold and warm temperatures.
- Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Physical ability to sit, stand, bend, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
