About the role#
Pratt Miller is looking for a Manufacturing Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 term. This position focuses on applying Lean Manufacturing concepts to our low-volume production environment. You will work alongside our production team on both daily tasks and long-term projects.
What you'll do#
- Develop process flow charts.
- Conduct time studies to analyze production efficiency.
- Write detailed work instructions for manufacturing processes.
- Select appropriate assembly tools and equipment.
- Develop plant and cell layouts.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering degree program.
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Great attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Reliable mode of transportation.
- Experience with vehicle and system troubleshooting is preferred.
- Familiarity with assembly, fabrication, and machining processes is a plus.
- Experience using 3D CAD programs like Solidworks or Creo is preferred.
