About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern at Oshkosh Corporation, you will support the Manufacturing Engineering department in achieving production goals and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship based in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. You will work on a variety of tasks ranging from office-based documentation to hands-on floor analysis.
What you'll do#
- Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
- Perform time studies and workstation or cell analyses to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide technical support to production personnel.
- Improve material handling methods.
- Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
- Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
- Create documentation for new product launches.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.
- Mechanical, manufacturing, or assembly skills.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.

- This role involves a mix of office work and time on the shop floor. You may need to walk across shop floors, stand for periods, climb stairs, or lift up to 50 pounds.
