About the role#
As a Hydraulics Engineering Intern, you will join the Design Team to support mechanical engineering functions. You will gain hands-on experience with our engineering processes, design tools, and the hydraulic systems used in our boom and scissor models. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Frederick, Maryland.
What you'll do#
- Assist design engineers with mechanical engineering tasks.
- Select parts and components based on weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturing ease.
- Create vehicle component layouts using Creo and other CAD software.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics for boom and scissor equipment.
- Perform engineering calculations for flow, pressure, and performance.
- Consult with internal departments, customers, and suppliers to solve problems.
- Test complete vehicles or individual components.
- Analyze hydraulic and prototype test data to evaluate performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A willingness to work hands-on across various project phases.
- Experience with 3D modeling and drafting is preferred.
