About the role#
The Data Solutions Team at Optimum Media manages data engineering, onboarding, and analysis. We are looking for a Data Engineer Intern to help maintain our data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work alongside our engineering and analytics teams to process data across our systems and improve the reliability of our data solutions.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to build and maintain data pipelines, structures, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Work with large relational databases and warehouse platforms to support reporting needs.
- Write SQL and Python code for data validation, structuring, and process automation.
- Aggregate and investigate data from multiple sources while troubleshooting quality issues.
- Document your work, architecture, and development activities using engineering best practices.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Intermediate SQL skills, including data manipulation and transformation.
- Ability to read, write, and troubleshoot Python code.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and cloud data platforms like Google BigQuery, AWS Redshift, or Databricks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience with Snowflake, PySpark, Linux/Bash, Git, or statistical analysis.
- Preferred: Prior experience in Media, Television, Advertising, or Digital Marketing.
