About the role#
Open Road Integrated Media is hiring a full-time, paid Content Writing Intern for the fall 2026 semester. You will work across our network of digital properties, including The Portalist, The Lineup, A Love So True, The Archive, Murder & Mayhem, and Early Bird Books. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in editorial judgment, SEO best practices, and content management systems while receiving bylines for your work.
What you'll do#
- Research story ideas and pitch content for our websites.
- Write articles for our various digital platforms.
- Conduct search engine optimization research.
- Source photos to accompany stories.
- Learn to manage content within our systems.
What you'll need#
- Availability to work 40 hours per week for the fall semester.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Current enrollment or background in English, Communications, or Journalism is preferred.
- Previous experience in writing, editing, or digital media is a plus.
Location & details#
This is a hybrid role based in New York, New York. You must be able to work from our Manhattan office two days per week, with the remaining three days worked remotely. The position pays $17.00 per hour.
