About the role#
This internship offers hands-on experience in the semiconductor industry. You will work with Metrology, Process, and Equipment Engineering teams to improve factory productivity. The role focuses on identifying bottlenecks, reducing operational waste, and streamlining metrology workflows.
What you'll do#
- Support projects aimed at reducing non-value-added activities and increasing metrology productivity.
- Monitor tool utilization, queue times, cycle times, and throughput performance.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Collect and analyze equipment performance data using Minitab and Excel.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Support AI-integrated tool alarm and spec hold response optimization.
- Gain exposure to techniques like critical dimension, overlay, and film thickness measurements, as well as defect inspection.
- Assist with measurement system analysis, GR&R studies, and tool-to-tool matching.
- Present project updates and final recommendations to engineering and management teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related STEM fields.
- Junior or Senior standing and a minimum GPA of 3.0 are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data visualization and analysis.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment and communicate effectively.
- Comfort working on the manufacturing floor and interacting with production equipment.
- A curious mindset with an interest in solving operational challenges.

- Compensation: $26.00 to $44.00 per hour, plus medical benefits.
