About the role#
onsemi is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team in Nampa, Idaho. This position offers hands-on experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment, supporting initiatives focused on process optimization, yield improvement, and operational efficiency. You will work alongside engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to analyze data and support projects that impact factory performance.
What you'll do#
- Support Manufacturing Engineers in process improvement, yield enhancement, and productivity projects.
- Analyze manufacturing and equipment data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Assist with root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate project progress.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation, work instructions, and engineering procedures.
- Support process qualifications, equipment evaluations, and validation activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to implement improvements.
- Collect and analyze data related to process capability, throughput, cycle time, quality, and equipment performance.
- Present project findings and recommendations to engineering and site leadership.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Materials Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Sophomore standing or above.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Interest in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, JMP, Minitab, or similar analytical tools is preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with engineering projects, laboratory environments, or manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of statistical analysis and process control concepts.
